Shaws Education has successfully completed its three-city Canada Orientation Tour in the Philippines, connecting with prospective students, families, and professionals in Cebu, Makati, and Cagayan de Oro.
Held from August 26 to 30 as part of the Philippines Recruitment & Partnership Tour 2026, the orientation sessions brought information about Canadian education opportunities and professional guidance directly to communities across three key Philippine cities.
The successful completion of the sessions marks an important milestone in Shaws Education’s commitment to connecting Filipino students with suitable Canadian education pathways and providing personalized support throughout their international education journey.
Three Cities, Meaningful Connections
The Canada Orientation Tour travelled across three cities:
- Cebu – August 26, 2026
- Makati – August 29, 2026
- Cagayan de Oro – August 30, 2026
At each session, participants learned about Canadian institutions, academic programs, application preparation, education pathways, and important considerations when planning to study in Canada.
The events also gave participants an opportunity to speak directly with education and immigration professionals, ask questions, share their academic and professional backgrounds, and explore options based on their individual goals.
Day 1: Cebu
The orientation tour began in Cebu, where prospective students, professionals, and families gathered to learn more about studying and building their future in Canada.
During the session, participants explored Canadian education opportunities and gained a clearer understanding of the planning and preparation required before submitting an application.
The strong engagement and thoughtful questions from attendees demonstrated the growing interest in Canadian education among students and professionals in Cebu.

Day 2: Makati
The second orientation session was held in Makati, bringing the Shaws team to Metro Manila.
Participants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds attended the session to explore undergraduate, postgraduate, career-focused, and other Canadian education opportunities.
Through presentations and individual conversations, attendees were encouraged to consider not only which institution or program to apply to, but also how their education choices could support their longer-term academic and career goals.

Day 3: Cagayan de Oro
The three-city orientation series concluded in Cagayan de Oro, where the Shaws team met another enthusiastic group of prospective students, families, and professionals.
The final session continued the tour’s focus on practical education planning, individual assessment, and helping participants better understand the steps involved in pursuing an education in Canada.
The warm welcome and active participation received in Cagayan de Oro provided a meaningful conclusion to the three-city orientation tour.

From “Paano?” to “Approved!”
For many prospective international students, the journey to Canada begins with a simple question: “Paano?” — “How?”
How do I choose the right program? Which Canadian institution is suitable for my background? What documents and financial preparations will I need? How can my education plan support my future goals?
These were among the important questions discussed throughout the orientation tour.
At Shaws Education, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all pathway. A well-planned international education journey should begin with a careful assessment of each student’s:
- Academic background;
- Professional experience;
- Career objectives;
- Financial preparation;
- Personal circumstances; and
- Long-term education plans.
Based on this assessment, our team helps students explore suitable programs and institutions, prepare their applications, and better understand the steps involved in pursuing their Canadian education goals.
More Than Choosing a School
Choosing a school is only one part of the international education journey.
Students also need to consider whether a program is appropriate for their previous education and work experience, how it supports their career development, whether they meet the admission requirements, and how they will prepare financially and academically.
Shaws Education supports students through personalized education assessment and planning, program and institution selection, admission preparation, application coordination, and ongoing follow-up.
Where regulated immigration advice is required, students may also be connected with qualified immigration professionals for appropriate assistance.
Thank You to Our Participants and Partners
We sincerely thank everyone who attended our Canada Orientation Sessions in Cebu, Makati, and Cagayan de Oro.
It was a privilege to meet participants in person, listen to their stories, learn about their aspirations, and help them take the first steps toward understanding their Canadian education options.
We also extend our appreciation to the participating institutions, local partners, event teams, speakers, and supporters whose contributions helped make the three-city orientation tour possible.
The Philippines Tour Continues
Although the three-city student orientation series has concluded, the broader Philippines Recruitment & Partnership Tour 2026 also included meetings and discussions with universities, educational institutions, government representatives, and local partners.
These engagements focused on strengthening connections between Canada and the Philippines and exploring future opportunities in student mobility, institutional collaboration, professional development, and international education.
Updates from Shaws Education’s university visits and institutional partnership meetings will be shared separately in upcoming News & Insights stories.
